Cynthia Black
Producer / Managing Editor

Cynthia Black's background is as rich with experience as her show with political authors, thinkers, insiders and guests!  An artist since the 60's her populist politics informed her choices and moving from east coast to west, she has performed with photographed or interviewed leading edge thinkers from 70's punks like Patti Smith to modern music greats like David Tudor and Composers Inside Electronics. Always looking for the single "trigger" in a work that opens its message to the audience, she says "Process is everything in art or life, people affecting circumstances and vice versa, then learning and improving.  The best art is like life.  It creates change."

Not content to stick with the arts, eventually Cynthia went to the opposite end of the process path: business! After running a variety of small businesses including what she says was her most satisfying work-- in mediation --she comments "Creating a business for me is identical to creating art. In both cases you start with a vision and must create a three-dimensional (real world) solution."

So now, why radio?  "The important message today is political and the important art is restoration of representative democracy, because legislation affecting every artist, business person and family is being fixed at the top by special interest money.  How can we be free to realize our vision, whatever it is, under such control?  Creating processes for reversing that circumstance is now for me the only art --or business --worth doing!"  --Cynthia Black.
